It has already been a few weeks since the CINP community came together in Glasgow for four memorable days of science, exchange, collaboration and connection.

"Psilocybin in Depression: Insights From Contemporary Clinical Trials" features Dr. Joshua D. Rosenblat and Dr. Danica Johnson (University of Toronto & University Health Network, Canada), who provide a comprehensive overview of the latest clinical trial evidence on psilocybin for depression.

In June, CINP was proud to be represented at the African College of Neuropsychopharmacology (AfCNP) School on Precision Neuropsychopharmacology and Brain Health, held at the Aga Khan University Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.

Prof. Joseph Zohar, Chair of the CINP Education Committee, delivered the Dan Stein Memorial Lecture, entitled NbN and Precision in the Treatment of Psychiatric Disorders, sharing insights into precision approaches that continue to shape the future of neuropsychopharmacology.

The AfCNP School brought together clinicians, researchers, and early career professionals for an outstanding programme dedicated to scientific exchange, education, and collaboration. Events such as these play a vital role in strengthening international partnerships and advancing better brain and mental health care across the globe.

We thank our colleagues at AfCNP for their warm hospitality and for organizing such an inspiring educational initiative. CINP looks forward to continuing our collaboration in support of excellence in science, education, and patient care worldwide.

Congratulations to all awardees!

We are proud to announce that CINP 2026 will collaborate with Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity to support the National Child Psychiatry Unit (Ward 4) at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.

Ward 4 is the only unit of its kind in Scotland, caring for children under 12 from across the country. Many patients stay for months at a time, making safe, supportive, and creative environments essential to their care and wellbeing.

During CINP 2026, the Charity will also host a charity shop at the congress venue, where participants can support this important work by purchasing merchandise and souvenirs and learn more about the charity activities.

This year’s CINP Ethics Prize is awarded to Prof. K. Sonu Gaind in recognition of his exceptional leadership at the intersection of clinical psychiatry, psychopharmacology, and public policy.

Through decades of academic, clinical, and international service - and particularly through his influential, evidence-based engagement on the ethical dimensions of Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) in the context of mental illness - Prof. Gaind has helped shape ethical discourse, informed policy development, and advocated for the protection of vulnerable populations. His work exemplifies the principles of ethical responsibility, public engagement, and global impact that this award seeks to honour.

We are delighted that Prof. Gaind accepted our invitation to attend the CINP 2026 congress in Glasgow where he will receive his award.

We are excited to announce the preparation of an International Course in Psychopharmacology, designed for residents in psychiatry and neurology, psychiatrists, neurologists, and general practitioners, and everybody who wishes to deepen their understanding of the mechanisms and clinical applications of psychopharmacological treatments.

Through this program, CINP seeks to foster global learning, professional development, and the dissemination of evidence-based neuropsychopharmacology.

The course will be online, CME-accredited, with sessions held every Thursday for several consecutive weeks. The first edition of the course is planned for the second half of 2026.
